N47 Excessive back pressure
Hi everyone,
I've got a 2011 318D automatic. I replaced my turbo as it was making noise. Under further investigation, I used soapy water and found an exhaust leak at the turbo's actuator arm. I have come to believe this is caused by excessive back pressure as there should be no pressure at this point. I looked at the exhaust gas pressure it was at 30mbar at idle, did an on-car dpf clean and got this down to 6 mbar. But again still has the exhaust leak. Next cleaned the EGR valve and cooler no change. Finally changed the turbo for a second hand one, no change. The car drives fine and has no fault codes. Has any one got any ideas? Thanks |
