Need to break into my trunk

Help gratefully accepted!

I was working on my 2011 328i, when I decided to disconnect the battery so I didn't drain it. I unscrewed the Positive RED wire where it screws into the red, plastic module that sits on top of the battery, rather than at the + post where I usually would. I then shut the trunk....

I tired to jump the electrical system by connecting a battery pack up to the terminal in the engine bay, but nothing. I guess disconnecting that particular module/cable renders that system useless?

My car doesn't have the pass through in the back seat so I can't crawl into the trunk that way either.

Could I connect a 12v power supply to the Trunk Release button in the driver's foot well?

An other suggestions welcomed.

THANKS!

Happened to my son's E93 335i. Pain in the neck to get to the wire needed to apply 12v to, but doable. See posts 164 and 165 on page 8 of thread provided by lordnikon above. Video and diagram should clarify which wire to energize.
