PnP Speaker Upgrades in 2024?
Looking to upgrade the door speakers and underseat subs in my 2008 328i wagon with Hi-Fi (S676) but unfortunately it seems like most of the links in the audio sticky are dead. I already have a JL XD600/6 with a TechnicPnP harness and some Bimmertech Alpha One tweeters I pulled from my previous E90 so I would only need the door speakers and underseat woofers. I'm not opposed to running a Bimmertech setup again but if I can get something better I would like to go that route. It looks like Morel may have some offerings but I am not sure which one I would need. Really only interested in switching if it's plug and play.
Link to the Morel speakers I was considering: https://www.morelhifi.com/en/product...ion-11/bmw-54/ |

I would call Unexpected Creations in New Jersey .
He stocks the better stuff and could give you comparison info. I put morel dotechs in the doors and Jehnert xe 200's in the floors that was about 10 years ago at least . Both are great. Also powered with and xd 600/6 as that was the standard for the Hi Fi upgrade years ago here. |

The Morel IR series is based on their hybrid line so its quality.
If you don’t mind mixing and matching, Focal, Audison, and others all make underseat replacements. For the 4” in the doors, if your budget allows it, the Audiofrog GB40 (and its matching GB10OE tweeters) are in the same class as the Morels. The Goldhorn is a good DSP amp. So are Musway and Arc Audio (small footprint and Maestro factory integration). |

i currently have a set of BMW OEM Individual Audio (aka EPS) speakers in all 4 corners powered by a Bimmertech sourced Match pp82dsp. once i took the time to figure out how to use the Audiotec Fischer software (and REW) to tune the system, it sounds good enough that i feel i can hold off on upgrading the speakers further (at least for now). |

I went with the MATCH UP W8BMW-S. They’re available on Crutchfield. I’m probably not the best at describing audio but I would say that they add the right amount of midbass. Clear and not overbearing while adding depth to the music.

I've used Helix products to a great success in the last vehicle (Tesla MS).
Helix Match 10DSP (10 chanel MATCH UP 10DSP 8 x 65 Watts at 4 Ohms and 2 x 90 / 160 Watts at 4 / 2 Ohms at the Sub Outs) in 3 way active Helix speakers (added mids to dashboard, better tw in A-pillars and replaced 6 to 8" kickbass in front doors, others - center and rear doors get reduced/eqs, more sound deadening, EQ-ed the whole system) 8" Ci3 sub-bass HELIX Ci3 W200FM-S2, 3" 3M midrange HELIX P 3M 1" PR 25T-S tweeters HELIX PR T25-S If I compare it with other installations without "active" wiring/amping - you get much more accurate tones and localization of instruments or voice, when looking at the dashboard I can almost point my finger where this or that singer or guitarist is. With conventional wiring (and no DSP), I also get accurate tones, but the definition of space is not nearly as good.
