Arrow Clunking from (new) rear upper shock mounts after coilover install.

Just installed godspeed coilovers on my 2008 328xi along with solid lower shock mounts from Condor and new OEM upper shock mounts. Everything went on easily enough, took it for a test drive and heard clunking. MASSIVE clunking. Pulled the rear wheels off, double checked that everything was tight (forgot to torque down my lower shock mounts, duhhh), and tried it again. Still clunking. Pulled the wheels off and triple checked everything. Every bolt is tight. I tightened the nuts at the upper shock mount so tight I actually snapped off an allen bit in the tip of one of the shocks, so now I get the joy of drilling that out. Yay. But my point is, everything is tight, super tight, and my upper shock mounts are brand new. And they're noisy and clunking like hell, it sounds like the car is falling apart when I hit a bump. They're tight, there's no gaps anywhere. I've opened the trunk and rear door and stuck my head in while someone shakes the car, and it does seem the sound is coming from right there. The clunking isn't as bad anymore, but it's still problematically loud. I don't want to drive it, it sounds like something is seriously messed up.

Has anyone else had this issue? What's the fix? I was thinking of getting either poly or solid upper shock mounts to hopefully fix this. I'm building a track car so I'm totally fine with extra NVH.

Did you install both lower shock mounts, bump stops and torque with load on suspension?

Yes I did. Sorry, forgot to put that. I torqued them down hard with the car flat on the driveway. There's still some movement there at the upper shock mounts—if you shake the car you can see the mounts deflecting a bit, I mean the factory ones are just stiff foam. That's why I'm wondering if I should switch to poly or even solid. Eliminate that movement completely.
