How to clean vinyl sidepanels?
While washing my '06 325i sedan a few days ago, i noticed my parents had left whiteish fingerprints on the interior vinyl panels due to their sunscreen
so i tried cleaning them with a moist cloth. however, the fingerprints did not go away. this is the same with scuffmarks on the bottom panels of all the doors how do i get rid of them? |

I've always used a cleaner/dressing that leaves a "flat" finish. Mequiars has this in the form of wipes .......
FMinus is the local detailer within the forum; might want to hit him up with this. Hope this helps ![]() |

Plexus http://www.detailedimage.com/Plexus-...otectant-P109/ and Einsszet Cockpit Preimum http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...PROD&ProdID=31 Hard to beat either one of these IMHO. The finish is matte and no oil residue behind. As far as cleaning I'll try rubbing alcohol first since both of these has alcohol you may able to clean and treat in one shot. |

I use the "quick detailer" as they're easily found in most auto parts stores. The products that HPIA4v2 mentioned aren't as accessible! If you decided to order online then his recommendations would be GREAT! |

First I'd try some soap and water used sparingly. The sunscreen is greasy and needs to be cleaned off first. You'll need something to cut through the grease. Dressings or cleaner/dressing combinations may not do the job as well as regular soap and water. Once clean, proceed with your favourite dressing.

Magic Erasers are great for scuffs on hard plastic. Don't scrub too hard on vinyl or they'll leave a matte spot.
