Flow gauge for port injection?
Hey guys,
I used to have a snow performance methanol kit on my e46 back in the day. It came with a flow meter to show when and how much meth was progressively flowing and it was really nice to know it was always working from seeing that. On my e90, i have a PI kit and run full e85. Is it possible to do the same sort of thing with port injection? I was thinking it would be pretty sweet to have it wired to a P3 or Awron gauge so you could always ensure the PI is spraying. Let me know if you have any ideas on how to make this work! Thanks! |

Okay, I am down to figure out something. I can't spend a lot of time right now as I am at work but I was thinking of a gage that can read a signal. I am pretty sure the AIC uses PWM or just an on/off type signal. Once we figure that out we can do how much is flowing or just if the unit is on or off.
My car will go into storage in about two months but I am sure we can figure it out before then or we will need to rely on you for all the testing.

I'm about to have a conservative 93 map made for track/road trips too so especially if I'll be turning the PI on and off, it will be very nice to see that it's working when I think it is. |

I forgot all about this. I have 3 kids under 5 so I don't know if I will ever get to it but I should be getting the car out in a month or so.

I have zero electrical knowledge but am fairly determined to get this done so I think I'll find a way! |

the snow performance flowmeter+display will work on a PI kit. just install the flowmeter between your PI manifold and fuel-in line (might need to change fittings). if you have the parts, msg me part#s and i can draw you diagram how to wire it up.
iam going to be running 650cc PI kit with motiv controller to spray meth, i was also going to install a flowmeter for confirmation, but with just a simple LED light in cabin to trip when flow active or below desired cc/min and another LED to trip via Motiv controller when it signals for meth from PI |

I want to get the P3 gauge, and that has an LED light input that can be used for whatever--figured I'd use that for my fuel pump spraying and then maybe the snow performance gauge for the PI. I wish the Awron gauge could be used for the PI but it seems that's actually less adaptable than the P3 even though it has an incremental light function. |

the P3 and Awron guages use digital input via cars OBD (with exception for analog vacuum input on some) so you cant just plug a sensor direct to it, you'd need to get a custom tuned motiv controller to do 2way communication with the car and use it's external sensor input, and even then i dont know if P3 even has interface for it, since its hard coded.
the snow performance flow guage + flowmeter would probably be the most straight forward option, and only wiring would just be from flowmeter to guage (should already be provided in the kit) and you can tap voltage from your splitsecond controller for the sensor, and in the cabin you can use a "tap a fuse" kit to get power to the gauge. |

Thanks for the reply feuer! I'm flash only but would consider adding a jb4 just for that functionality if it works pretty well.

Guys, I think the P3 might work?
Check out the top row, it's got some sort of function that shows whatever input ramping up, and it says it has 2 analog inputs that range from 0-.5V. That's a variable thing and not like an on/off switch, right? If there's a way to integrate this that would be so slick. LMK what you think. |
