Flashing to Latest MHD Maps from N55e
Hey all,
Couldn’t find any information regarding this. If your current car is flashed with an OTS tune or any tune for that matter from the previous N55e App, should we first flash the car back to stock on the old app before tuning the new 2.xx maps or just tune right over it. The real question really is: how does the new app know what the the pre-flashed factory tuning perimeters are in the event I want to go back to stock if it never got the chance to read the car while it was stock like the N55e app did prior to installing my current tune?

When going from the N55e app to the MHD App (new one), the app should automatically detect the older MHD version and update whatever is needed. Longer than a map change but quicker than a full write. This is at least how it went in my case

To end this thread. I just flashed over the stage 2+ v1.60 from the n55e app that was on my car to the latest stage 2+ v2.00 map on the MHD Flasher app.
It was a long write (5 minutes 1 second) I did not use a battery tender but I did go on a roughly 30 minute drive after a cold start to make sure the battery was as full of juice as it could be. No issues. Right off the bat, I could tell the car wanted to get going with light throttle inputs much like what others are mentioning about their cars now getting up from a dig much more eagerly which makes driving around with a light foot easier. The tune is good and better than v1.60 and it does stay alive longer past 5.5k but it’s not worlds apart. Overall satisfied customer👍 EDIT: Another thing I noticed was the new MHD flasher app was doing a better job at maintaining connectivity to my orange MHD flash tool than the prior N55E app which would many times abruptly lose connection and attempt to reestablish connection, sometimes successfully sometimes unsuccessfully. This would be frustrating when trying to get logs but this app has been solid during the first 40 minute drive I had with the new tune/app in play.
