Z4 35i cluster in a 335i
I mess around with clusters a lot and I had a few people ask me about this. Curiosity finally got me so I bought a used one to test. The fit is exactly the same as a E9x cluster as is the pinout. I had to play with the coding to get the fuel level to read correctly and because of my M3 conversion code in the changes for the gear display but it seems to work perfectly, except because of the E P brake in the Z4, there's no brake light for the 335i p brake. I did the LEDs after the fact.

Yes, the whole instrument cluster.

Just using the front cover won't work. The clusters are the same size and use the same circuit board but everything else is just different enough that it won't fit properly.

I have installed a 35i E89 speedometer in my E90 330i N52B30 automatic. Unfortunately, the tank display is a bit crazy, and the general coding is a bit dubious. Could you please help me? Many thanks for any answer. |

Pretty sure you would have to use PerfektToolbox to correct it.

Sorry to dig this old thread.
I did the same conversation and after played around with the cluster coding, I still have issue with the fuel gauge. when power on the car , the fuel gauge is in correct position, but after some while the fuel gauge will fall down to 0 with empty fuel warning. Does anyone know how to fix it with coding? |
