turbos blown ? PLEASE HELP
so first a back story i recently replaced my turbos augest of 2024 with rebuilt oem now its january 2025 and it appears they blew i recently tuned my car to stage 2 plus in the end of november, last night during a pull my car slowed down felt slugish and put out a cloud of smoke across the street all the way home. On my Idrive i have low oil pressure along witha pool of oil on the turbos side of the car. There was many codes and missfires none would clear. To me everything point to turbos blowing but i cant fighre out how thats possible if i havent even put 10k miles on them. I attached all of the codes i got that night also to note that my boost went from 18 to 1.4 ina split second which to me sounds like they said goodbye.
Just some info on my car its a 2010 335 w the n54 i have index 12s eldor coils two step colder plugs fbo and ive nvr had v many problems up to this point. Last edited by blakeolds; Yesterday at 10:09 AM.. |

If you have oil and those codes along with complete loss of boost pressure I'd say your turbo is cooked. I'd look and see if you can tell where the oil is coming from in the rear turbo area. It sounds like the shaft either broke or you blew a shaft seal. Ask me how I know... half my turbine was in my exhaust

Honestly you can't really expect much out of reman parts. I installed Pure600's and never looked back. Look at this way, it's not an easy job, do you want to do it twice or spend a little more money and do it once? Although Pure600s work great for what I want out of my e82, the e90 is getting a single set up for the fact that I don't want to be under the car again doing turbos on a daily driver. Get something new that's reputable and do it once and be done. Specially if you're going to be pushing more boost. Get bigger turbos (or single) that can hit your power goal without being close to or out of turbos efficiency.

Yeah, this is why i sold mine. When its working, its perfect but when its not/and most of the times its not/ its a nightmare so decided to cut it off and just count the loses. The platform is great but the time/these cars are 15 year old at least/ and lack of maintenance from previous owners takes its tolls on it.
