Telling them not to wash it is not enough. You need to be more proactive, to the point of printing up a sign that says "DO NOT WASH", and sticking it on your steering wheel. It's hard for the valet kid that moves the cars around to miss that. He shouldn't accidentally take your car to the wash kid next time you're in for service.

I agree with David. If it still gets washed, get the service manager involved to make sure they can tell all the valets and service advisors about the problem so it doesn't happen in the future.

Have them pay someone you pick to remove the swirls. It isn't guaranteed their detailers will doa bad job, but it's a pretty good assumption.

what if you tell them to cover the cost to go to a real detailer in your area to remove the swirls

This guy has mad skills. He's in CT, but I believe he travels (or did travel) to NY occasionally to do details. Give him a shout and see what he says.

Sorry to hear about your wash experience, I too don't trust the dealer and found the only way to make sure your car doesn't get washed is to print out a sign. If you're willing to travel to Jersey to have it detailed give me a PM.

My dealer is very reliant on their "all 5" scores on the follow up customer service survey. It means incentives for the dealer to get these all the time and they salivate over persuading you to rate them this way. If your dealer is the same way and in addition to a sign placed on the steering wheel I would almost guarantee they won't wash it again if they think they won't get all 5's. As previously mentioned talk to the Service Manager not the SA.

Same exact thing happened with me also. Took the car in for service, and told the CA that I do not want the car washed. He wrote it on their sheet, circled it, and highlighed it. I pick up the car after a few hours, and the retards still washed the car. Errrr!!!
