Help with coilover install!

Well i went to install my kwv2's and the rear went fairly smooth. With the fronts though i got the strut assembly out of the fender but i cant get the stock shock out for the life of me. I un-did the 18mm bolt and nut that compress the aluminum clamp around the shock and removed the bolt but the shock is stuck like a rock. I tried prying the clamp apart but it barely moves.

talking about this clamp

that can be a pain... depends how many miles and wear are on ur stock suspension. Watched while they did mine, and took 2 people to get it done. One prying that clamp apart, while the other wiggled and pulled the shock out. Maybe some WD40 might help loosening it up a bit too

as others said. that will be very tight. a 2nd person using a flathead or any tool to apply some prying force will help a lot.
