Front bumper
Just curious, has anyone modified the stock front bumper? I was thinking of removing the bit of plastic underneath the grill to make the area look more uniformed, and better IMO.
Any thoughts or ideas? is it even possible? I have no idea how to post the pic, so i guess i cant.... |

Hello!
I am seconds away from ordering OEM style front splitters. Just cant decide CF or painted. These changes the look of the BMW a bit. MTECK style are "larger" (not sure how to describe them--jet out farther? Bit more sporty?). Anyway. No idea about mod. the stock bumper other than adding parts such as splitte or lip. Interested in seeing what other say. But for $200-$400 (give or take) you can get a set of splitters that 3Mtape/bolt on the front bumper and change the stock look nicely..... It will be neat to see what others say. Any change may not be dramatic enough and may be best off with parts added. But --I REALLY dont know! Let me know if you want pics but sure you know what i am speaking of....

yea i know the CF splitters, but i like the way they look on the MTech kit. I just dont have that kinda money to throw around (i wish i did tho) and I have no idea how long ill be keeping this car, so i really dont want to sink any more money into it. thats y i was asking, by taking off the bit of plastic it would open up that area and make it more clean looking, like the mtech, but with no cost ;-)

I assumed you knew of splitters.....and I hear you about selling in a few years or whatever and not wanting to dump $ in the car.
Someone will reply....

I opted to get the black finisher rods (black plastic, not painted) from the 328 and snapped those right into place. If you decide to paint them, more likely than not, you'll end up having to repaint after some time as the paint will start to chip due to road debris. It's subtle, but really changes the look, check it out:

Ahhh... I love search. Doing that this weekend. My fiance hates the silver/gunmetal look, especially after adding the matte black grills. Either we'll be painted or hunting a 328 down to swap not only window trim, but also finisher rods.
Thanks for all the info...
