Perhaps in your country, yes. Any more illegal than those silly washer LED's and tire valve cap LED's?

As for looking dumb, well, that's subjective.

Let me clarify something. I never said "OMG GUYZ!!! I WANNA DRIVE WIT DEM SHYTZ ON ALL DA TIME LOLZ!" It was never the intention to drive with them on.

I simply said I wanted to see how it would look while the car was moving (esp considering my car is white).

I am still waiting for my car. I have a question to all owners with CA and these LED's in the door handle. Do I have to use the fob to switch the lights on or are the LED's on when I touch the door handle or switch the lights automatically on when the car recognizes the key?

When you are opening the door, just use your hand and the LEDs will come on. Same thing when you close the door and lock it... touch with your finger to lock and the LEDs turn off.

You don't need to use your keyfob... however, after you've locked your car already, if u and the lights have turned off, you can press the lock button on your fob and the lights will come on for a few seconds.

I don't see them so much now like before when they first came out. I'm sure it was a phase in time like parachute pants. I know, before your time.

I agree with Squawks on this.

However I disagree on where it all started.

My understanding is it started on Japanese vehicles.

More specifically Honda Accords and Civics, etc.

Not with Asian people.

Therefore, no offense should be taken unless you "Rice" your vehicle.

A person of any ethnic origin can be a "Riceboy."

One man's art is another man's pornography. If you don't like it, best thing to do is just leave the gallery, not burn it down.

As to the "riceboy" reference, it should offend all of us.

My 2 cents.

Well according to the link that was posted "This homepage is dedicated to exposing the ridiculousness of the Rice-Boy "subculture". What started out as a Southern California Asian subculture has grown into a worldwide phenomenon afflicting those of all races."

I don't know if this is true being that I'm not from California but apparently it did start out from the Asian culture and progressed to everyone and anywhere else. I don't like the term "Rice" and the negavtive conotation. I don't "Rice" my car either so offense can be taken. Use another term.
