Bad Gas? need code translation
Was pulling out of my office parking lot and all of sudden, while at idle, I got a check engine and half engine icon.........I was shocked, havent seen that in a long time. Before I could even think of the reason my car started sputtering and shaking, felt like a very bad miss on more than 1 cylinder. It sounded really horrible. I turned the car off, restarted, same issue. I pulled out and drove very slowly for 1/2 mile or so, any application of gas would cause very rough acceleration.
When I pulled up to the next stoplight I felt everything smooth right out. After another 10 minutes or so of 30mph driving I got home, no more sputtering. I checked my code reader w the car still running and pulled "0302". Turned the car off, then back on, everything back to normal, no SES light. I was craving Quizno's meatball sub, $5 footlong, cant beat it. Drove there and hit WOT in 2nd gear on my low boost map, perfect, no problems. Switched to high boost, nailed it, 11.5psi at part throttle, 14.4psi at WOT.....again, perfect. Car was a bullet. Soooo what do you guys think? Bad gas? Fuel pump?

here's what the 0302 code means:
"P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected" Not sure what might have caused it tho. Maybe bad gas, doesn't seem like a fuel pump issue. |
