Problems lowering car with UUC sways installed
OK, so as some of you know, I've been trying to get rid of my KWv2's for a few weeks now... but since nobody wants to pay the amount I want, I decided I'll probably just put them back on my car... but I have a question...
Last time I tried to install the coilovers, I dropped the car about 1"-1.5" and had a problem with the swaybar rubbing against the control arm for each wheel. Anyone else have this problem? Are all you guys using endlinks that are stock length without having a problem with the sway bar rubbing against the control arm?? I wonder if the problem was 1) I just dropped the car too much 2) I got the wrong UUC sway bar set (maybe for a diff model??) 3) KWv2's and UUC's just don't work well together?? Any/all thoughts are welcome... I just don't want to run into the same problem again when I re-install the coilovers...

Just installed TC Kline coilovers and the UUC bars need adjustable end links on the rear. Fronts are already adjustable from UUC. AS much as getting them out of the way the rear bar can load up with a lot of tension (preload) when you lower the car. This is not good for handling. Search threads for this as I'm not very experienced.
I think velocity motorsports makes adjustable links in pairs. Hotchkis makes them in set of 4 for about 250. |

Try TurnerMotorsports.com for ones that get shorter. Also try ebay, which is where I got my shorter endlinks.

Didn't realize that about the UUCs. I should take a closer look even though they were replaced.
Mine are the Hotchkis ft an rr. Take look at the sites for Turner, Hotchkis and Velocity. Velocity is more vague but I think they give you measurements. Can anyone chime in on what preloaded bars do to the handling? |

I have the JIC Cross coil-overs and the UUC sways on my car. As you can see from the pic, my car is pretty low. I've had no issues at all with the sway bars rubbing or hitting anything. I'm not sure if you're having issues because you have an e92 or not vs. my e90.

The ones I got are about 1 inch shorter than stock at its longest setting. So I set it at the longest setting and I now have almost an inch clearance to the lower control arm.
I'm not sure if this is too much, but it functions well and the car handles well on the track.
