Custom Iphone Mount
I was always looking for a place to put my iphone so i put this charges it and plays music thought my aux port in my center console
So what i did here was traced the frame of the dock and then cut it out with a razor blad and then centered it ![]() ![]() Then when i went to the store to buy the 3g dock holder it came with 3 of them for 9 bucks so i had 2 to spare so i cut the frame off one of them and traced it thats why you see the white line in the picture above ![]() Then i started the cut with a rotozip and hope for the best ![]() After i cut the hole i cleaned it up with a sander tool and dropped it in with some gorilla glue and clamped it down and waited 5 hours for a nice tight fit ![]() Now for this piece when i went to the apple store i picked up a 3g dock see here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB...OQ&mco=MTQ2MjA its like this but without a remote You have to glue this to the bottom of the dock and then when you put the idrive controller back on it holds it very tight ![]() ![]() Here is the finished product i dont have the iphone in there cuz thats what im using to take the pictures if you have any ????? write me and i will help you ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this is my ride tell me what you think ![]() |

you should paint it brown (or black) to match your console

i think what you shouldve done was somehow put the white iphone holder under the dash, so that way itll just be a hole in the dash that your iphone fits into, and nothing is poping out, and you can also put a cover when not using.

I'm not sure if a lot of people here are comfortable with dremeling their center trim. However, I did a similar setup by putting the dock in the ash tray instead.
