However, pretty much everyone with these mods ended up putting in race gas so it's hard to tell.

But to be honest, my guess all 4 of those mods are worth about 30-35 rwhp on the dyno.
And probably quite a bit more on the road where the FMIC will help keep heat soak from occuring, where the, DCI, catless DP's and exhaust will help the car breath in and out better and get onto boost sooner and longer.

Probably more effectively worth 40-45 rwhp on the road.
Just a guess though.
So if all those extra mods (beyond the tune) are worth 30HP or so, then it would make sense the car would have trapped around 112mph on just the tune. That is right were I trapped too. The other 335i at Famoso trapped a little over 113mph, but I think that is expected since it had downpipes, and intercooler I believe. I am so tempted to get the intercooler, downpipes, DCI,exhaust, etc. But I am really determined to get into the 11's somehow with just the tune/fuel/tires. Lately, it has been going in the wrong direction. I can't hook up much better with DRs at the strip than I can on the street with RFTs. It's just hard to get good track prep sometimes. But kudos to the great runs people are getting with very strong trap speeds.

Nice showing!!!

As Shiv commented, improve the launch and you're going to pick up a couple of tenths at least. With that trap and a 1.8sec 60" time I bet you're in the 12.3x range, and this should be feasible especially with a 6AT. I noticed you're on 19" PS2's. If they're non-runflats, try lowering the air pressure and doing a solid burnout to warm them up and clean them off. Some people say burnouts are pointless with very low profile tires, but I have the same tires an I'm telling you that it works. At the track I've been dropping the pressure to 24lbs then stopping at a gas station after leaving the track and filling it back up.

Good luck next time out!!

Dropping the tire pressure came to mind but I actually ended up doing only 3 runs total (I even brought my portable tire pump).

Dropping the pressure was the difference for me between 13.2x's and 12.9x in the high 109's, still with shitty 60' times in the 2.08-2.12 range ()
With 36psi in the rear tires, I couldn't hook them no matter what. Might not be everyone's solution but it works for me.

I'm not sure if dropping tire pressure helps me or not. My first time at the track during the summer (85 degrees and humid) I left the General Exclaim 265/30's on CSL reps at ~40 psi. Somehow I managed 3 of 6 runs under 2.0 with one being 1.86. I don't think the Generals are known for their traction qualities, but they are a knotch above the RFT's to be sure. Excellent track prep helped me look like less of a rookie.

This past trip (35 degrees and dry) I dropped them to 25 psi and 2 of my 5 runs were under 2.0 with my best being 1.91 on a 12.33/115.76 run. I have no real technique and no one ever runs over after my runs to get driving pointers. I just wait for tree to start down, try to keep breathing and do a semi-dump with the revs in the 2000-2500 range. I can't really be sure of my rpms, I never look at the tach during the launch.

I wonder what the best psi is for Nitto DRs, I have been testing at 36psi, (normal street use), an lower them to 24psi for drag runs. However, some people say 18psi would help? Same with ET Streets? Is it safe to go to 18psi?

You definitely want to drop DRs tire pressure down. They are very soft so when you drop the tire pressure they are a lot less prone to cupping. The lower tire pressure you have, the bigger contact patch (3500 lb/ 4/ 35 psi = 25 sq in vs. 3500/4/20 psi = 43.75 sq in.). The bigger contact patch the greater the traction. It's all about finding the lowest pressure without cupping. You also have to take the good with the bad, too little tire pressure and your mph can go down, but generally less is more

DR's are a great way to make a MASSIVE improvement in traction, especially with the differential.

Tire pressure is important, but heating them is more so. Get a good solid several second burn out just before launch and they'll hold traction well enough for an 8 second drag car.

+1
The last time i was the track, I managed to cut a 1.6x 60" time. Did so with just 16psi of tire pressure in my BFG drag radials. Didn't hurt top end either.

That's a lot of mods for a 12.6 run, should be able to get low 12s i'd say, keep burning those 1/4!

That's why I only tend to look at the trap speed when seeing if performance matches the mods done to the car. And at over 115mph, it's the second fastest customer results at dragtimes.com.

Pretty good, i'd say

great trap indeed.

I wonder if I should enter one of my runs....even w/ a crappy et it would be the fastest customer trap on dragtimes. Clems would be right there too but it wasnt his best et.

You definitely should. Trap speeds are king. More representitive of real world performance.

I dont have my timeslip though.........it was a 12.61 at 116.3xmph, 2.3 60 ft. I dont remember the rest. threw away the slip in disgust.... There was AT LEAST another 1mph in the car that day.

I'll enter it, dont know if they will let it stay.

Aw shucks.. they won't accept the result with out a scan of the slip. That would be have been a great result to submit!

eh its ok, it was against a brand new Dodge Viper ACR.......his 1st 1/8th mile was even worse than mine....I beat him in the 1/4 and he was trying so you know he was having serious traction issues.

it was this car, took this picture when it was rolled off the trailer at the start of the day

so sexy

it was in absolutely ideal conditions for HP at the strip, but unfortunately not for traction.....really wish I had an LSD so I could have heated the drag radials fully. trap speeds are great, but not being able to put the power down until middle of 3rd gear is

the more impressive feat was that Clem ran over 116mph the same day on a V2 car w/ just race gas and dual cone intake.....thats it, no downpipes, no LSD, no exhaust, no intercooler, no race gas map......nothing. I believe he ran 5 straight runs over 115mph with that "mild" setup!!!!
