Got Oxidation? Honda Accord Detail
Seeing as though Honda paints are fairly soft in general, I thought this detail would be straightforward. However, for some reason Honda decided to use single stage paint on a 2006 car.
![]() Throughout this detail, temperatures ranged from 28-35 degrees. Washing was not fun, and I really envy anyone in California, Florida, and any other warm climates. Process: Exterior CWG using 2 Buckets/Grout Sponge Meg's Mild Blue Clay Makita Rotary Meg's m105/PFW Menz SIP/White pad Menz 106ff/GreyPad Isopropyl wipe down Collinite 885 Optimimum Opti-Seal Wheels, wells, tires: P21s Wheel Gel Meg's APC P21s TAW Meg's Hyperdressing Eagle One Gel Water based Tire Dressing Glass Stoner's Invisible Glass Sonus Waffle Weave Microfibers The car wasn't too dirty but it had a dull look to it that just didn't pop. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The lower panels, along with the mirrors, had a lot of contamination on them that took quite a bit of claying to remove. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The jambs throughout the car had a lot of grime. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was very difficult to photograph the swirls, but overall the paint wasn't swirled up as the owner had taken great care to use proper washing techniques. Here's the paint initially under the halogens: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After one pass compounding, some nice 50/50 shots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After Polishing and before the final wash, it was late but the car looked much glossier already: ![]() ![]() After Wash: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Final Shots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks For Looking
