3G Iphone Adaptor

does anyone have a 3g iphone snap-in adapter yet?

if so, have you managed to get both the phone and ipod functions working from an iphone placed in the cradle?
on mine, the handsfree phone function works fine, but i can only get music out of the iphone's speaker, not over the car hifi. according to bmw (dealer in germany) both funtions should be active, but i've tried all idrive options that might activate the link without success.

frustration has set in, so any help would be appreciated.

Additional Information

Don't know if this additional information helps anyone give me an answer?

I've a Sep 05 330D M Sport.
I don't know what version IDrive it is running though.
My phoneware is up to date.
There appears to be 2 versions of the phone adaptor, one ending 043 (i think from memory) and one ending 038. Mine is the 038 version.
I do not have a pre-installed USB connection, don't know if this makes a difference?

Any thoughts or advice on how to get this working would be useful.

For early E90s, the BMW cradle only charges the phone and does the antenna - it does nothing for the ipod bits. See this...

Not sure how the new post Sep 08 one works but it still might not be sorted. I can recommend the solution I ended up with on an 06 car.

Search and read the above thread. When the iphone is in the cradle you cannot connect it to the 6FL USB interface to run it as a music supply to the radio. Cradle adds a charge and external antenna only. Does not connect the phone or 'ipod' function to the stereo/idrive system.

I'll second that.
