I would hesitate on the LM 25's though - they are not very good on ice. I live in calgary and after the first day with ice on the road the car went all over the place. Called tire rack and they gave me a discount on a set of Michelin X ice2 which are MUCH better. Only trade off is that they are a bit more squishy on dry pavement. But at the end of the day - winter tires are for ice and snow so personally I would recommend a dedicated snow tire like the michelin X ice2 or a Blizzak WS60.

I have looked for X-Ice xi2's, and read many reviews about them, they seem to be very good winter tires with also good pricing however they dont come with 18's correct? I'm going to keep my stock rims for dedicated winter setup and get new rims for summer setup

If you do get a flat though you can always call BMW assist or BCAA if you have it.

See thats the thing, if you dont have RFT's the BMW assist will not be available, at least this is what my dealership told me. I should double check these things

I've used Tirerack many times over the years and they have always been great.

I bought my winter tires (Blizzak LM-25's) from TireRack too. Did it as a phone order. Dealership made a typo on an e-mail and had the wrong dimensions and the TireRack guy caught it. They know their tires very well and aren't just guys who answer the phone and place orders.

Had them deliver the tires to the dealership where they were installed on my stock rims. Summer performance (stock rubber) was installed on my 193M's by the dealership.

Recommended them to friends and I'll definitely be going back to them too.

A member here had a flat on his non runflat summers, and BMW assist came and tow his car to a dealer free of charge.

but they don't have a as good wheel selection.

Definitely not -- NONE of the 3 series sold in Canada to date use TPMS (tire pressure monitoring sensors); they all use the ABS system to track if a tire has lost pressure. I believe US spec cars with run flats are required to have TPMS. If you buy them you'll have nice $200 metal stems, but that's about it...

I thought some of the newer cars (somewhere after late 2007?) has them, I was just going by what people are saying here. I guess we lucked out with that and save $800 for the sensors. My friend is having a lot of grieve with the ones on his IS since it's driving him nuts.

Anyway, I checked again and just noticed if you put 2007 as a model year for the E90 in Tirerack, you do have the option of selecting rubber or metal valve stems, this is not the case with 08' and 09'.
