How to shuffle iPod songs with iDrive??

Has anyone figured out how to shuffle the entire iPod with the new e90s and iPod integration with iDrive installed?

The manual doesn't tell me much.

The closest I can come is use the CD6 setting and hit random.

OK. I read in the manual that cd6 displays all the songs, well 255 of them. I didn't think of that.

When I was shuffling from cd1 it kept playing the artists songs over and over again.

Thanks

I'm still having difficulties shuffling

When I go to the next track, even before the current one is finished playing, it just goes to the song in the same folder,

For Example:

Cyndi Lauper:
Time After Time (currently playing)

Next track:
Goonies Mix- Good Enough

If it's on shuffle, it just goes to the next Cyndi Lauper song, instead of shuffling to something else like my MINI did.

Any advise?

Thanks

That's just a 'bug' in the software, you experience the same with mp3 cd's. Let's hope BMW solves this in one of their software updates.

I thought that problem would have been fixed in the latest update... guess not.

I wonder if this could be a programming issue on the Apple side of the equation. My younger brother just brought a brand new Civic with Honda's Ipod interface - same exact issue when he tries to shuffle.

I think the only way is to turn off and on the random shuffle. (I.e., click on a track and select "random directory" to turn it off, and then click on track and select "random directory" again to skip to the next random track.) It's a little cumbersome, but I haven't figured out a better way.

I will soon try using the shuffle songs feature on the iPod itself then plugging it into the car.

Maybe that will work

It's not that big of a deal to create playlists either.

No, shuffle settings in the iPod itself have no effect--iDrive controls the behavior.
