Some guys running tunes only are running in the high 11s. That is on race gas and drag radials. over 400 rwhp is not hard at all.
Add in some catless downpipes, exhaust, larger intercooler and intake all are available. Go to the Turbo forum.

Yep, a piggyback tune, DPs, DCI (intake), and race gas are all that's needed to get into the low 12's (high 11's w/ DRs); only other things that would help are an LSD and of course upgraded turbos.

Are you kidding? Tune-only (albeit very heavy tune aka V3/JB3) puts you in the low 12's. Tune + everything else you mentioned puts you in the mid-high 11's.

Correct, warranty is history unless you go with the Dinan tune from what I understand. Mine is stock so maybe somebody else can give you more/better info than me.

If you decide to go to the dealer for warranty work with mods installed on your car, then yes, it is very likely your warranty can be voided.

If he is only worried about straight line speed the 335 is the clear winner right now. The M3 has f/i coming out, but you will spend even more than a 335 turbo upgrade it looks like.

OP - tell your friend to reduce as much as weight as possible, strip interior, get light weight wheels, aggressive tunes + upgraded turbos, upgraded intercooler, oil cooler, upgraded turbos, dual cone intakes, scoops, exhausts, down pipes. Those are the main things. If you're a REAL enthusiasts, cams/heads/pistons (all the engine work) afaik...someone else can chime in

These upgrades are twin GT Garrett Ballbearing turbos that flow 26lbs/min vs stock turbos at 13lbs/min. This kit will bolt on just like the factory turbos with no modifications involved at all. We will be taking orders once the tuning is complete. If you have further questions you can pm us. |

The power is much more linear than stock turbos and carries all the way to the redline. The stock turbos give e quick burst of power early in the powerband and drop off fairly hard at the upper rpm's, The lag is virtually unchanged since these are BB's, but on the average it's only a few hundred rpm difference. Eventhough, we can definitely feel a big difference in power delivery, it is still being held back by the factory DME. The DME is used to seeing X amount of airflow volume at X amount of boost. Now that the airflow volume has increased exponentially at the same boost, the DME is adjusting throttle angles to reduce the intake of that volume. Stay tuned for updates once tuning is complete.
