get the catless dp. it gives you huge power gain and sounds so mean.
if your worry about ur warranty, then you should've keep it stock at first not to mod her lol.

the order I went was

-Helix intercooler (I bought their test mule intercooler back in 2007 sometime
-Ulitmate RAcing CAI
-UR catless downpipes
-Britalman catless exhaust

the sum of all those was awesome.....just awesome.

if I were you i'd go first w/ the catless downpipes but keep your stockers around in case you need to swap them back in for serious warranty work. It will give you faster spool, more hp/tq, less wear on your DP's (i think), and a meaner sound.

I can take the procede out in 15 mins. cant say that with DP's. How many people are on here with tunes that arent worried about their warranty? ..lol

For cheap...let her breathe with an intake. DIY install, minimal investment. Sounds a little better too.

Next go DP (haven't made that step but friends have). More money, pro install (and removal for dealer) adds up. Sounds really cool.

DP install is definitively a DIY.

I don't believe that an intake upgrade with be worth ANY amount of power in a stock car.

I'm on the same boat...craving for more power...catless dp isn't something I can swap out easily...espcially without the lift.
I'm thinking about getting AE exhaust for better breathing and add few more ponies. Try not to void warranty if I can.
so with Rev.II with Vishnu DCI and dp back exhaust such as Autobahn Exotics, approximately how much power am I putting down? Is that considered Stage I or Stage II? What gives more power adding an Helix Intercooler or AE Exhaust?

add 100 octane fuel & a e90post sticker
I wouldn't get catback exhausts, waste of money with most of the systems out there.

DPs takes an average person about 5 to 6 hours i would say...Yes it can be a DIY but you need to be really knowledgeable and have the correct tools, and even then its not easy and takes a well experienced person 3-4 hours still....When I get mine I will not be doing it myself thats for sure, and up until now all my mods which is quite extensive I have done myself....I am in process of installing a RR Catch can!

I guess people haven't read the part where it states you are on a tight budget. recommending catless DP's and FMIC are not small coin.
They are $700-800 for the DP's plus a couple benji's for install.
The FMIC is $1000-1200 plus install too.

Since you are apparently on a tight budget if I were you I'd get a DCI.

Seems many thought the stock exhaust was the restriction initially but seems more and more tests show that they don't restrict too much in the way of power until you get to 380+ rwhp.

You live in Mass. for God's sake, I don't think a FMIC is needed to much when temps there are pretty darn cool most of the year.
FMIC would only be needed there if you plan to track a lot. But on a limited budget, doubt you'll be tracking your car a lot.
So forget the need for the FMIC.

As you stated Mass. is a 93 Octane state too.

I don't know, you can ask Shiv for sure, but I'd think with 93 Octane and a DCI you could get away with running Stage 2 map 90% of the time (may be an issue in summer temps that get above 85-90 degrees)

I know a catless exhaust is "recommended" for stage 2 but Shiv has always been conservative with that.

If anything, maybe just remove the 2nd cat in the mid section of the exhaust. A few dyno tests have shown that to do very little (maybe 3-4 rwhp gain when removed) but it will free up a BIT more airflow too and wouldn't be so much of a warranty issue as the catless DP's.
But it might still be a problem as once they are cut out, they can't be put back in without people knowing.

But personally again, add the $100-200 DCI and switch to Stage 2.
That should be good for 15-20 rwhp gain overall.

After that, you need to spend some coin (and blow off your warranty and the environment) to get more power from the N54 engine.

Yes the new maps are conservative...thats why I have stage 1 non-doomsday set to 94% and only seeing 14psi!!! I know i can get away with stage 2 and leave the UT, but I chose stage 1.
