changing impeller or upgrading turbos?
has anyone thought of changing the impeller of the stock turbos and coming up with a tune for it? instead of changing the turbos. any new news about the turbo upgrades for the 335i?

Looks like they'll be the first. No one else has offered any modified turbos for sale yet, let alone done any dynos. Down4it is getting turbos modified, too, but not sure who is doing the work. Stay tuned...

Someone had them on their website - $2k + core. Wasn't it GT Pro?
Found it: http://www.boostedbimmers.com/turbokits.html

The factory mitsubishi cartridge is poorly designed from factory. The problem is that the impeller is already too big for the stock turbine wheel along with a week shaft design. Putting a larger compressor wheel will only exasperate the problem and overspin the turbine even further, creating a less efficient turbo. Putting a larger compressor wheel simply will not work for this application. This is based on compressor map info and turbine pressure data we have collected.

I think 5k sounds like a fair price. Also for PROcede owners you can probably subtract about 1k I am excited to hear about the final work on pricing in the next few weeks, also the results of Shiv heading to FL for tuning of the kit. ![]() |
