335i Turbo Lag Software Update

Hi Gang,

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my recent software update experience. I own a 2008 335i (build date Sept 2007). The car's software had never been updated.

I could perceive some turbo lag off the line but always had that doubt in my mind (was I just being too over demanding of a turbo vehicle?) Well, I saw BMW's announcement about the software update being released to address the turbo lag.

I called my dealership and since my build date was in the affected build range, they agreed to reflash my software at no cost. Holy cow! The car has been transformed. Absolutely no turbo lag whatsoever! To be honest, it doesn't feel like a twin turbo.... feels like a N/A V-8.

If you are debating about getting the software update, I highly recommend it. The turbo lag off the line will definitely go away.

Has anyone else had this update yet? My dealership said that not everyone is seeing an improvement and that some are seeing worse lag.

i suspect the dealerships are just programming the cars with 32.1 and not performing the wastegate fix... i believe this is what happened with me and prob others...

wait for the smoke to clear, the dealers just dont seem to be up to speed on this ATM.

Wow if you are telling the truth, I definitely need this upgrade next time I take my car in for service. I feel a bit of lag when I accelerate.

wouldn't you have had pre 29.2 before the update in which case you should not have had the problem in the first place?

I had the 32.1 re program after bringing my car in for a problem (the part the blinker bulb goes into). My car is a 7 07 build and i never had any lag whatsoever.Long story short after the parts change and re program i felt no difference, and i was thankful for that because i had no problems to begin with. What i have noticed is better mpg.Spirited local driving went from 18.5mpg to around 20.Mods are SSTT and BMS single intake.
