I need to get my wipers replaced for a E92. Can't see anything on the web for E92 only E90. Does anyone know if i can use E90 wiper blades on a E92?
I think the windshields are different so have my doubts, but don't wanna pay stealer prices.

I was under the impression that Stealer prices weren't too bad for wiper blades. There is usually some sort of discount to be had.

Unless you can save a significant bit of cash I would suggest going with the real thing is probably the best option.

aren't the wipers changed under warranty? the dealer took care of that for me but then again it might be different in the US.

We have to pay for the air they put in the tyres in the UK.

The specs and servicing are peculiar on either side of the pond. You get FOUR years warranty but limited to 50,000 miles. In the U.K. we get 3 years warranty but unlimited mileage. On mainland Europe, it is two years unlimited mileage.

You used to get Logic 7 as standard, now it is the HiFi version - we get the bog standard sound. We get the alarm as standard, you don't.

You get burr walnut trim included, we pay extra for it.

We get no servicing included therefore no free wiper blades.

What's offered by BMW evolves to fit the market it finds itself in.

Lastly, Britain is unique in any country in that you can buy a single wiper. You would think that they should be replaced in pairs but Brits seem particularly stingy when it comes to wiper blades - hence being able to buy them singly. Weird, isn't it?

I bought a set of OEM wiper blades for my 4Runner about ten years ago. They ended up costing me about $85.

weird indeed. i wonder what factors they look at to decide whether the warranty should be three years or four years. btw i think this thread became more about warranty differences then the OP's original question.

The normal warranty in Europe is 2 years but because, through product differentiation, years ago, manufacturers gave only 1 year warranty but allowed you to buy an extra two years cover fairly cheaply. This warranty wasn't as comprehensive as the original 1 year warranty but did cover the expensive stuff. Gradually, through competition, more and more manufacturers started offering three year warranties.

In mainland Europe this process resulted in two year warranties but because three year warranties had become so prevalent in Britain, the mainland European manufacturers had to match it and they did this by buying insurance policies for the third year and offering it to British customers as a three year warranty.

We now have a couple of Korean makers offering five year warranties and one of them offers seven year warranty.

The three year warranty is unlikely to change in a wholesale way because in Britain every car from the age of three has to go through an annual road worthiness test and lots of people (in the past and pre credit crunch) tended to change their cars at three years since the warranty had expired and M.O.T. tests cost money - also repairing the car to pass the test at times.

I guess you get four year warranty and free servicing in the States either because other brands do it, or to further differentiate BMW in the eyes of the public though I think the 50,000 mile limit isn't particularly generous.

That's pretty interesting. I think BMW does it do differentiate itself from other makers as it had a few commercials that stressed how comprehensive the warranty was. Kia offers ten years here but everyone else has four years and none include oil or brakes. As for the 50,000 miles, it's crappy for those that buy the car. The leasers give away their cars around 36k. When people return their cars before the three years are up do the dealers end up paying for the inspection costs?
