His name is Brandon if I remember correctly. He asked me for my Vin number to look up the in service date just to confirm the 1 year has passed.

Just called Bmw Canada. Apparently the first oil change is annual and the ones subsequent is based on when the servicing light goes off. Will try to contact T&C and see if I can argue anything with them since my sales guy told me it was once a yr.
Will update when I get more info. |

Any development in this matter? Can you argue for an annual oil change at no charge? I would like to get an oil change done before it's 1 yr anniversary and I would appreciate any help. BTW I called the service rep at Budd's out of curiousity and he said it would be a out of pocket service as the current mileage is well under the required amount.

BMW Toronto did my first oil change for free on the first anniversary. That was last year. I spoke to the SA few weeks ago and he acknowledged that BMW Canada changed the policy recently and they no longer give free annual oil changes. Only when the computer says so. Must be another cost-cutting measure by BMW due to the economy.

Just got my service done at T&C and they were good and fast (contrary to what a lot of people have experienced here).
Anyways so this was my 2nd maintenance (y1 maintenance was done at BMW Toronto as it was closer) they changed the cabin filter, brake fluid and did a "low mileage oil change as past 1 yr". My mileage when I got there was 7600km. I'm glad they covered it. I think the key is for people having trouble with getting a oil change covered under scheduled maintenance is to mention that you want a "low mileage oil change". If you still have trouble maybe try T&C. Good luck! |
