The without battery will still crank makes me laugh. Its like a car without weels can still drive or a human without a head can still see.

Gotta double check the connections for sure! 2 things to check for are the power wires and the ground! Best case, put it back to stock and make sure it runs properly first. If it does, then try the procede again. make sure you don't mix up the connections.
Do you get any codes when you try starting the car? |

Connections LOL I was a procede noob but not anymore. Got it done in 20minutes at the end.
