It sounds like you use the rinse bucket to rinse out the sponge, as opposed to having a different sponge in clean water to rinse off the car. Right? This makes sense and isn't a bad idea.
If the car is real dirty, I also change my wash water half way through, and I use a grit guard.

I'm still scared to try ONR. I may give it a shot in the winter though. Thanks for posting the shots!

my observations
I'm also worried about marring, despite everyone telling me otherwise. So whenever the car is particulary dirty (mostly when exposed to rain) i do a regular wash first then follow w/ ONR. If the car is dusty from pollen or road dirt but hasn't been in the rain i will pre-rinse the car with a gilmour foamier then follow with ONR.
I find one of the biggest advantages of ONR is the thin layer of protection it leaves on the paint. This layer also provides a nice shine and has some property that doesn't attract dust / pollen - when i do a regular wash w/o ONR I get noticeably more dust then when using ONR. One disadvantage that I think ONR is causing - this protection layer seems to adversely effect windshield. When the wiper swipes you're left with a slight 'cloudy film' that disappears in a second or two but becomes annoying over time. As a result I try to avoid getting ONR on the windshield. |

Nice car, but then I might be a little biased. Looks exactly like mine except the front tag holder. Do you have the black poplar also?
When my car is that dirty I will usually run it through a quarter wash to blow off the heavy grit and then pull it in the garage and do a QEW wash. I also found that the QEW seems to clean better than the ONR. |

It's freezing today and I might try the ONR. Should be receiving the package from DI this afternoon. I wonder if it's a good idea to wait a couple more days till it warms up...

Unless you have an indoor garage, I would recommend waiting until the temp gets above freezing. Once it touched the cold metal panel, The ONR solution froze up on me (28 degrees at the time). I had no problems once in the garage with the door closed.

It's just jet black, the paint is too soft, I noticed light marring on mine as well after a while, and don't use ONR on it anymore.

I used ONR quite a few times on my Graphite E92 and it always came out great.
