Stone Chips & BMW Supplied Paint
Sooo...I finally decided to use the Sparkiling graphite touch up paint that was given to be by the dealer 18 months ago when I bought my car. It is clearly a BMW product, labelled correctly etc but the paint looks black even when dry. What gives? Would look dumb to have black dots on my sparkling graphite car. could it be mislabled?

Did you shake it?
When I first tried it on my car it looked black but when I shook it long enough it mixed in the gray metallic flakes and it looked right.

Well if you shook it a couple of times only then yes it needs a more shaking. If you've
shaken it to death then it's not going to change color by the sheer heat of shaking so someone screwed up the labeling. Good thing you didn't try on your car ![]() |

wow $32 for touch up paint. I just go to the body shop that the BMW dealer sends their cars to be repaired. They gave me a bottle for free.

I know I paid just under $25 @ my local dealer.
True to the post above ... somewhere ...... you can hit up the bodyshop your dealer sends their work too and they'll usually hook you up. Besides, they have much better "applicators" to give you than the cumbersome brushes ....... Live & Learn ........ everyday. ![]() ![]() |

Took debris to my door under the mirror, left a chip and two scratches. I had to get A34 Arctic Metallic, shook it up till my arm was tired, applied it with an applicator from a body shop, noticed it was darker than my paint, waited 6 hours and applied the clear coat. Looks like sh*t. So much darker than the surrounding color. I'm very disappointed
