so now it's $400 although if i decided to do it myself, little less if i can get at least one more person (i would guess that extra $10 or so, since GB for 5 is $380), $380 if i get 5, $340 if i get 10... so who's interested for sure? i'll most likely taking the trims off on this coming sunday, unless otherwised noted, i'll ship it out myself on monday. if somebody want to jump in, i can wait for group thing going... |

I'd be happy to help both you and David with your trim R&R when you guys are ready.

Hey dudes, since that guy is no longer on the forums and $400 is crazy anyway I went ahead and wrapped my own trim. There's a place in Tukwila called perfect fit (perfectfit.com) that sells the same vinyl cf look material that guy used.
Instead of the black though I got charcoal, which just fyi, it's more like light grey... haha It's lighter than I had planned on but it looks really good. Almost like the titanium cf. It cost me $30 for 2 yards of material and $10 for the 3M adhesive. I spent about 6 hours between the wrapping and removing/replacing trim in the car. |

While I like the CF trim, I'm more inclined towards the non-cloth version that is dipped in resin.. The one that looks like the crazy OEM Piano Black trim version that costs like $1200 bones.
That would be hot |

Yeah it's a hard call for me between the piano black look and the CF leather wrap. I will say I like touching the leatherized surface much more than I would getting dirty finger prints all over the glossy black interior.

That shop has the black cf vinyl and other colors. No pics at the moment. Looks just like all the other interiors others have posted.
I wasn't ever interested in the cf fabric look until I sat in an M3 with it. Looks awesome. I actually prefer the look over a true carbon fiber interior. I was mostly posting to let others know it's a pretty simple do it yourself and you can pay a fraction of the cost to do it. Last edited by brocken; 04-02-2009 at 01:45 PM.. Reason: added photos |

Wood trim works really well with the wrapping. I've done it twice now on wood and it's easy to work with. You can also remove it easily, just take care not to peel the finish when pulling the old vinyl off. Goo Gone worked really well to remove the leftover glue.
