Airconditioning Weakness

Out here in Nigeria, 3-series BMWs have problems with the airconditioner evaporators located under the dashboard. They tend to give up the ghost within the first 50,000km. This has happened to ALL my friends who own the current E9x and the previous model. Every single one!!!!
Has this been noticed by others around the globe or is this peculiar to our extreme tropical environment?

I dunno. With all the prince's and wealthy business people over there who need help getting money out of the country you'd think that people would have plenty of money to throw at the car for repairs.

Don't feel bad. For a small fee I have 10,000,000 that I'd like to wire you so that I can hide it from the US Government. The fee is only 2%. Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you an address to mail a check to.

Don't bother. You'll probably need the funds to feed your world renowned drug problem.
I'll sell it to you though!!

...or would you like to look for non-existent arms in yet another country???

Whichever way you swing it you need the funds...badly!!

I've been a member here for 3 1/2 years, and to be honest I've never ever come across anyone mentioning problems with the E9x's A/C reliability. We have quite a few members from extremely humid asian countries who seem to do fine, on the other hand we also have members living in places that are stupid hot (but a dry heat) like Arizona and no complaints there either. So like you said, it could be the combination of hot and humid that's doing it, beyond that I'm at a loss

Edit: Do you get South African or German-built BMWs there? I wonder if they source different brand evaporators between the two.
