Stacking tunes will work, as long as the piggy has the ability to be configured to work wiht the flash. I dunno if the juicebox can, but i know shiv can def scale the new boost curve and make it work. JohnnyR might not the be the best example as his car had issues with just the flash itself. Why would someone do this? Well if the flash can control injector duration....thats huge for poeple who are running out of fuel.

Mike,

Actually Bubbles has it pretty much spot on.

In your synopsis below you left out the bit about him lying to both BMW and Dinan and not fessing up to the tune stacking until after he badmouthed Dinan & they publicly moved mountains to make him a happy customer.

To the OP - stacking tunes is simply dumb, far better to find a tuner that can do something custom to your needs.

Cheers,

S

You seem like a nice guy as well, but I think some people have a tendency mistake posted conjecture for fact. Johnny was in contact with BMS throughout the entire ordeal. Here is the basic run down as I recall:

1) He installed the Dinan flash and it worked fine for a few weeks
2) He got bored, and installed a JB1, and it worked fine for a few weeks
3) His car developed a high RPM misfire problem
4) He removed the JB1 but misfire problem persisted
5) He took car to dealer, they refused to work on it due to the Dinan flash
6) He took car to a Dinan dealer and they didn't know how to fix it, and offered a refund
7) He freaked out and bad-mouthed Dinan on all the forums
8) Dinan contacted him to work out the misfire issue. The resolution was a "custom flash" that dropped to below stock boost levels at high rpm. See attached dyno chart after the "fix".
9) He got bored, added a bunch of parts, car started making normal power
10) He got bored again, and tried to raise boost via a JB+ and his misfire problem resurfaced.

Here is the "Custom Dinan Flash" dyno:

I was just thinking that I don't get the same high with meth, so I should try adding some crack on top, right?

To the OP, you should really have just saved them money from two tunes and picked up a V3 with other parts or a custom turbo set-up. Two tunes is entirely unpredictable.

I am about to put in a dual cone intake. is there a way to have dinan adjust the tune for this? and if not will there be any horsepower gain? Thanks

I don't think you'll see any gains, the Dinan was tuned to work perfectly with the stock intake. I'd just leave it alone. Hotrod just ran an 11.7 on the stock intake w/ JB3 turbo melter map, so I think it's sufficient. IMO just wait for Dinan to release their cold air intake..

Thanks guys for all of your input. Steve I appreciate your PM...great customer service. I guess this car is a lot faster than it feels. My friends vortech supercharged s2000 feels about ten million times faster than my 335 but when we raced the other night I was slowly pulling (maybe a couple feet with each shift). And since i am faster i guess ill just stick with the dinan. LOL
