What color is the background of the main I-Drive screen on your 2007 E9x?

My dealer supposedly just upgraded my I-Drive software, but I'm not so sure about it.

Can you please tell me what color the background of your I-Drive home page is on your 2007 E9x, assuming you haven't had it updated since you bought it.

Mine now is grey, and I think before it was brownish, but I'm not sure.

depends on build date.

newer versions are silver/aluminum looking. old version is brown and had designs/patterns on the 4 home screen buttons.

If it plays DVD now it got updated I guess. I am taking mine to get updated tomorrow,

I wanted to get mine updated too.

What do you mean by if it plays dvd? like does it read the dvd nav or it plays movie dvds. i thought u couldnt play movies in pre-lci models anyways

i believe it can play movies when the car is parked.

Mine is brown. I wish it was gray, I didn't know they changed it! I think I need to get her reprogrammed!

Is the reprogram covered under the factory warranty?

i don't think that updating the old Idrive will let you play DVD's,only new 2009 Idrive can do that ! However it still good to update to fix some minor issue with Navi and Bluetooth but that's all

Just tell em that the nav is laggy and that you've been told that a update would fix that. That's what I did and it was covered.

Same as yours. Mine was brown and then was upgraded and became gray. Sounds like you were upgraded, but frankly, I didn't see any big improvement anyway. The POI search feature got improved slightly. That's about it.

its true the upgrade goes from brown to silver/gray and i didnt even ask my dealership to update the software they just did it themselves.no real imporvement but i did notice that my maps on the nav screen have become WAY more detailed.no new cd so its kinda weird

Oh...I mean if it plays MP3.....Still in the shop for update will get it back in a day or two....

Mine is brown and its a June 08 build. My idrive gets locked up sometimes so next time I am in town I will ask the dealer to update it. Last time they refused.

Got the car back with updated idrive firmware not sure what version is it but it now plays MP3. Nothing much changed, not on the car itself nor the responsiveness of the idrive (still quite slow)...
