I wasn't talking about about the technical aspects of a BOV, I was stating an opinion. And I'm sorry, but no high horsepower cars have a bov, except the supra, which just happens to be the king of rice.

Like I said I understand the urge to get one, but you went from an Eclipse to a bimmer for a reason.

A BOV instead of a recirc system is just a different way of doing the same thing, namely taking care of the boost already in the intake, when you shut the throttle.

Some engineers think it's better to recover the metered air that's in the intake already and put it back into the line, others think it's fine to just "blow" it off to atmosphere.
It's not a matter of one way makes the other "cheap".

But, it does matter that the system is designed to work as a recirc instead of blow off. So, it will make some difference in operation.
If someone is willing to give up that little bit of proper function to get one of the coolest sounds in engine design, well, I say it's their choice.
The BOV in my '90 Laser/Eclipse was sweeeeet.
My A4 you can barely hear anything, and my newly ordered 135i has no sound like that either, it's pretty much too quiet.

The supra the king of rice haha, if thats the case then I wish this car could eat half of it. That car can make over 1000hp on stock internals, if only the n54 can even achieve close to that, which it won't on stock internals. And the king of rice still holds its value alot better than a 335i ever will. And a BMW is just a car like any other car climb down from your pedestile.

its pedestal. Not pedestile.

And the fact that it can make 1000hp on stock internal makes the gigantic wing any less riceish because??????

point is, OP asked to help him pick out a BoV... NOT to tell him you think they are ricer or you don't like them, etc. Either pick one or move on right?

OP said:

If I hated BoV's then I wouldn't even read the post titled "Help me make my decision please (bov)". I guess that wouldn't hike up my post count tho

back OT... OP I personally like the Tial for sound, the HKS kinda "squeels" if you ask me. Not sure which kit is best, but they are all equally overpriced to hell.

Oh i'm sorry for misspelling a word my humble apologies. Dude putting a huge wing on a fwd civic is ricey not on a supra. I think the supra uses that wing for downforce so it is functional so ricey I would think not. I don't think BOV's are ricey at all. The HPF kit on the e46 M3 uses a BOV do you think thats ricey too?
