wtf manzerna ip and manzerna p085rd not WORKING

OK i know this sounds kind of stupid but both manzerna intensive polish following p085rd are not taking the swirls out. They are just doing a lil bit of swirl remover wtf is going on

process

1.was dry car
2.clay bar
3.go across surface with plastic glad bag make sure it is smooth
4.manzerna Intensive polish with 3m waffle compunding pad
5.manzerna p085rd with 3m blue polishing pad
6.look at the car disapointed because swirls wont go away

i mean how much more can super intesive polish do if ip with 3 passes is not working is it really a big difference iam scared to buy it because i feel it wont do anything.

all polishing done on a makita copy rotary at 1500-2000 rpm

heeeeeeeeeeeeelp

Blue pads have no cutting ability, and as far as I know, and I am no rotary expert by any means, 1500-2000 is very slow using a rotary.

Are you letting the polishes break down and are you also pyramiding when you're using the rotary? Intensive Polish has cutting ability but not much. If you can please post us pictures of the swirls.

btw PO85rd has almost zero cutting ability. I use it to jewel the paint.

Cheers,
Nick

I'm nor familiar with 3M pads so I can't comment but IP does not have a lot of cut, step up to a more aggressive pad. PO85 is really finishing polish and will not really remove anything but it will add tons of gloss.

Try this, make a pass with IP and the compounding pad you have, when the polish breaks down it should flash. When it flashes, spritz the area with cold water and go back over and re-polish. I do this with M105 when I run into deep RIDS, and since you are using IP this method should work nicely.

you might want to check your microfiber too to make sure that it isn't leaving any scratches behind

I have very rarely found the need to take the rotary over 2000, that is definately not the problem in this case. Usually I go up to 1800 and bring it back down to 1000-1200 once the polish is almost fully broken down.

What does the paint look like once you're done polishing with IP? Compounding will leave it's own kind of swirls/buffer trails, but you should be able to distinguish between them and swirls from washing. I also think IP to 85rd is too large of a step, I only recommend using 85rd once the paint is pretty much perfect already, you need a final polish such as 106ff to use in between the steps. However, SIP is a much better compound than IP imo, you can't go wrong picking some up.

Like I said, I have very little rotary experience.
