I would not say the F is faster than the M in the final analysis. It is probably easier to drive at its maximum potential than the M (certainly in a straight line ).

Or give the 335i $10k in mods so the price spent is apples to apples. There are so many other variables, gas octane doesn't determine "apples to apples" unless you are racing the same car (ie: tuned 335i vs tuned 335i) then you'd need to both be on pump gas to be apples to apples. When racing, you show up with what you want, especially when racing a more expensive car with a bigger engine. The IS-F driver is free to put in race gas too you know. Many do drive on a race gas mix full time too. Quote:
More like mid 12's, M3 is mid to high 12's car stock. Look here: http://www.dragtimes.com/Lexus-IS-F-Timeslip-17085.html **DR's are usually good for .1-.2 seconds. Notice trap speed too. http://www.dragtimes.com/Lexus-IS-F-Timeslip-16729.html Same guy but this time removed spare tire and engine cover to save a bit of weight. http://www.dragtimes.com/Lexus-IS-F-Timeslip-15615.html New England Dragway is known to be a pretty fast track. But 12.5 @ 117 mph is pretty darn fast for a stock IS-F regardless. No stock M3 on any track has put that kind of time down. http://www.dragtimes.com/Lexus-IS-F-Timeslip-16730.html Another essentially stock IS-F. Had minor weight reduction with spare tire, jack and engine cover off. But I think it's safe to say the IS-f is a mid 12's car with many in the 12.4-12.6 range. And with trap speeds ranging from 113-117 mph it seems to be a bit faster than the M3's which seem to do 112-115 mph stock. |

If you don't think an IS-F could put 3+ busses on a IS350, you're kidding yourself. Take a look at this video: And the IS-F took off a bit after the 335i and the IS-F only has 1000 miles on the car (as they stated in the video and the guys in the 335i could smell the newness of the IS-F's engine burning). And again the IS-F takes off late (those idiots don't know how to do a 3 honk and go run). The IS-F is a fast car, no doubt. And like all NA V8's in performance cars, they will do better at triple digit speeds than the N54 which starts to get a bit heat soaked. That said, as I stated, 100 Octane and Map 8 should be sufficient to run ahead from 40-100, equal from 100-130. Map 9 should keep the 335i ahead to 150 Funny how some of the Lexus guys are calling the BMW guys "****" and "girl cars". And they drive the Lexus. Most Lexus owners are old, or women. |

Jesus. Three pages of this bullshit. It doesn't matter who's car is ahead at the end of the run. The IS-F driver loses because he has tailpipes that are fucking GAY and everyone points to them and laughs!!! The IS350 is a decent looking car. The IS-F looks retarded.

At the top end, even on a first run, an upgraded FMIC will come in handy. If you do more than one run, you could see 40-60 degree cooler air intake temps with an upgraded FMIC. If you don't have one, the tune or DME is going to pull power and you will probably get stomped.
