Things to do in Australia
Hi guys,
I'm leaving for Australia on tuesday, and I'm staying down there for about 2 weeks for vacation. I'm flying into Sydney and I believe I'm staying around there. Can anyone suggest anything I should visit (Restaurants, sights, etc...) Anything that's a "must see?" Thanks inadvance for any info given. ![]() |

Harbour Bridge walk - where you walk up the harbour bridge. an excellent experience.
Definitely hang out at Darling Harbour. it's just a great place to go to. Sydney Opera House - and while you are there check out Aria Restaurant - it's about 200m from the Opera House. a great restaurant. if the zoo floats your boat, then go to Taronga Zoo. and as for "must see", go check out BMW Sydney - there are heaps of cars with the M-sport packs that you yanks don't get ROFL |

how long are you staying? 2 wks?
i suggest hiring a car - drive up to the Blue Mountain/Jenolan Cave or a nice drive down south coast via Royal National Park! |

By the way, how is public transportation around Sydney? Safe? Worth it? |

Make sure you take in a sail or powerboat boat trip on the harbour, while it's winter so a bit cool it's a great time of the year on the water. There is also a huge number of whales off the Sydney coast at the moment so a whale watching trip if it floats your boat will be worthwhile. If your heading out to the Blue Mountains then a car would be useful unless you go with a tour group. Try not to go hiking unprepared, we have a good record at finding lost Brit's but we suck at finding lost Yanks. |

Check out the blue mountains and jenolan caves and do a harbour dinner/lunch cruise as people have already suggested. Would also highly recommend the 2nd week in Melbourne, it's a top spot too!
