Titanium Shims for Brakes..Reduce Temps Drastically!
Hey Guys,
As this is the Tracking section, I thought I would post this here as well as the Classifieds...Moderators feel free to delete if deemed necessary. I've been in contact with Alan at TiSpeed, and trying to set up a Group Buy for these Titanium shims. As they currently do not make them for our models, they would need at least 20 people to produce. For those of you unfamiliar with this technology, it is simply titanium shims that are 'shimmed' inbetween your brake pad and the contact point on the piston/pad and caliper/pad. Many top race teams use these, and I have them even for the weekend track days. They make a noticeable difference, and I rarely bleed brakes between sessions anymore. Price will be between $69 and $99 for ALL FOUR Corners! Some other companies are charging $100 per axle! Here's a link to the company that is making these... http://tispeed.com/ Here's a video that shows the incredible properties of Titanium. This video does not mean that your brake caliper temperature will decrease by 200 degrees, partly because in the car there is no air/ventilation between the TI shims and caliper...and little ventilation to begin with. However, these shims DO significantly reduce temps and can improve the resistance to fluid boiling. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in! Brian |
