BOV questions for those that have them..
I guess i should put on my flame suit.. but i love Blow off valves's. Not everybody does and i understand that. I have a few questions, so for those of you that have them, an answer to any of my questions would really help a guy out.
1. Which BOV and brand to go with? I have heard of some that aren't so good, wondering which ones are keeping smiles on peoples faces. Best sound? 2. Are BOV's safe on our n54? Have heard the argument that they shouldn't be run on our cars.. why and what problems/issues could arise? 3. Will it void my warranty? I know BMW doesn't support any tunes other than Dinan, and was wondering if the same thing applied to BOV's. I wouldn't want to unistall it everytime i had to take the car in for servicing. 4. What can i expect in terms of gains if any? I run 94 octane gas, will have JB3, intake and scoops coming in soon. Wondering which ones actually support the other mods and provide gains and which just make noise and nothing else. 5. Do some not work with certain intakes? I will be running BMS Dual Cone Intake most likely. Thanks for the help in advance.

There's a lot, do some research and listen to some sound clips on youtube and then decide. They all pretty much do the same thing, but sounds a little different from brand to brand. 2. Are BOV's safe on our n54? Have heard the argument that they shouldn't be run on our cars.. why and what problems/issues could arise? IMO, the BOVs are fine.......It certainly holds boost well when you're tuned, this has been proven(assume everything else runs properly, no leaks, etc.). I'm running the AA BOV and love it....... 3. Will it void my warranty? I know BMW doesn't support any tunes other than Dinan, and was wondering if the same thing applied to BOV's. I wouldn't want to unistall it everytime i had to take the car in for servicing. Honestly, I think it really depends on your dealership and/or SA. 4. What can i expect in terms of gains if any? I run 94 octane gas, will have JB3, intake and scoops coming in soon. Wondering which ones actually support the other mods and provide gains and which just make noise and nothing else. No power gains, it supposedly holds more boost compared to stock DVs. 5. Do some not work with certain intakes? I will be running BMS Dual Cone Intake most likely. BMS DCI should work with ANY DV or BOV setup, AFAIK..... I reserve the rights to be wrong. Thanks for the help in advance.[/QUOTE]

2.Complete nonsense this is a Tmap car it doesn't matter if you vent it to atmosphere or divert them back into the intake the car is gonna run the same. 3.Don't know depends if your SA is an asshole. I take mines in all the time with it on there with no problems. 4.You won't get any performance gains from a BOV, but you will hold boost better than the stock diverter valves so I guess I can see that as a gain. 5.I think all the BOV kits will work with the dci.
