Rogue engineering SSK?

Hi guys,

has anyone tried this SSK? I can't seem to find any real thread about it... I heard Rogue's stuff is pretty top notch, which has got me wondering...

It looks like they replicate the OEM shifter position, which I don't want to give up with the OEM SSK.

TY.

No one has this kit?

I've considered the UCC, but its a PITA to install

The OEM SSK changes shifter position, as does the B&M kit

I considered the AA SSK, but the UCC is apparently better

But rogue on the M3 seems to be like a winning combo...

Someone please HELP

i have it and it feels great its the same as the stock height but much more i guess you would call it refined or precise but if your looking for a jdm type ssk where its more of a flick this is not the kit for you it makes the throws like 20% shorter let me know if you got questions

Great! Finally someone that has it!

First set of questions:

1) Standard shifter position is retained, right? As in, the shifter has the bend in it - its not like this link but like this (part B) right? (Images only for illustrative purposes)

2) Does it need more shifting force than the OEM shifter?

3) Does in increase/decrease notchiness?

4) Does in increase/decrease shifter slop (left/right movement, particularly evident when in third gear for example)?

5) How is it holding up? Anything coming loose or such?

6) Any installation difficulties?

Thank you in advance for your time!

1. yes its similar to the second link you posted its the whole ssk kit not just the lever
2. it needs a little more shifting force but not something soo significant it would make u regret the kit
3.increase notchiness
4. decrease of shifting slop its very firm and precise
5. Nothing has come loose except my knob flies off when i powershift from first to second and thats still happens very rarely, i have the same knob in the first link as question one
6. I had a performance shop in the area put it in they did it in 2 hrs and charged 90 per hour and that was the best rate i found another shop said 4-5 hrs because its a full kit and they have to drop the tranny.

overall im happy with it but i was expecting the shifts to be a little shorter

Thanks for the response,

to question 1) - I was more concerned with the S sort of bend in the lever... is this present (above the pivot ball), or is the lever just bent in some direction, or is it straight?

Thanks.

I have the UUC EVO and it can be installed from inside the car if you grind a small notch in their pivot cup (which doesn't come anywhere near affecting shifter operation, strength etc) but their instructions say to separate the exhaust and lower the rear of the transmission so you can install it. Not tough for a garage + Lift + trans jack to install but for a home install it's impractical.

I'd say which shifter to use depends on what issue you're trying to address. There is side-to-side slop at trans selector rod that a shifter pole alone won't fix. The infamous first-to-second gear shift difficulty gets worse if you use a shorter throw shifter that sits in the stock pivot point.

The UUC is great but it's pricey at $350. I have tried the OEM SSKs and they suck. I have no idea about the rogue but anything that's a shorter shift and uses the stock pivot I think will not shift as well as the UUC.

My 2c. Good luck on your shifter hunt.

I wouldnt know that far into detail but it seems like it makes sense if im not wrong though the rogue sits at the same pivot point but it longer on the bottom end to shorten the throw idk if that makes any sense or if that makes any difference if it makes sense in the first place lol i myself am curious about this. anybody???
