You really need to do the IC and the DP's to get where you want, but the DP's really need to have the IC, so the IC first if you have to choose, then the DP's.

I am trying to "balance" both the front end (intake) and the back end (exhaust). My order of mods to date was 1.) PROcede V2 2.) DCI and 3.) 3" catless downpipes. My next mod in the very near future is the FMIC so it's been front side, back side, front side etc.

I noticed a significant performance gain initially with the Vishnu PROcede. A slightly improved gain with the DCI and then another SIGNIFICANT gain with the 3" catless DP's (mated with the new 11/2 stage 2 Shiv map). I am 6MT. Your location probably dictates catted dp's especially if you have strict emissions compliance rules. I just put the DP's on and won't be driving too long before I add the FMIC. After a while I'll open up the exhaust more.

In summary, I did not do it in the order most have responded with here i.e. FMIC before DP's but my experience has been great with my order. Plus the DP's were $700 and the FMIC will be $1500 installed. For me it's also been a result of when the money was available to do the next mod.

With these cars I don't think it really matters too much what you do when however I'm simply trying to keep the performance processes "balanced" with my approach.

Whether it is 40 outside or 90 outside... your turbos under full boost/load running 15psi are going to heat your intake air up over 200 degrees I am sure. Cooler outside temps will help your FMIC work a little better at cooling that down, but if you try to run for any length of time you will still be heat soaking. Saying it is cold outside so you don't need FMIC until summer is just not really a good justification. There is also alot of restriction in the stock FMIC (and pipe connections) setup.

You bring to discussion a good subject: budget.

Well, if I have to buy both FMI and DP to get where I want to be.... then, in terms of budget, I should get first the one that has the best conditions at the moment.

That brings me to the ETS FMIC Groupbuy... It is at a very tempting price...

...And then wait for a Macht Schnell Groupbuy!
