Tire Recommendation for replacing run flats

Well I am on tire racks site and the number of tires on there is way too much. I know I am not getting run flats again. So can people out there chime in on some replacements.

I was looking at these in particular:

Yokohama ADVAN Sport (Max Performance Summer)

Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport (Ultra High Performance Summer)

Yokohama S.drive (Ultra High Performance Summer)

Yokohama ADVAN S.4. (Ultra High Performance All-Season)

Really what is the difference between these, especially the 3 Yokohama styles.

You've more more less answered one of your questions. For summer use: The best would be Yokohama Max Performance Summer then Ultra High Performance Summer. The ADVAN S4 is an All-Season. The first two CAN NOT be used in the winter while the last one would do fine (not as good as dedicated winter tires) in the winter.

Choosing tires really depends on your driving style and what you like. Look up Tirerack's reviews of tires.

If you are not planning to use winter tires and will still drive the car in the winter, do not consider any of the summer tires. Choose All-Seasons. I can't recommend any of the tires that you've suggested but I will suggest Continental ExtremeContact DWS for All-Season. They are quite fantastic for its price and targeted use.

If you are looking for dedicated summer tires, most forum members will suggest the Michelin PS2. However, I heard Yokohama is good too.

I went from RFT's to Hankook Evo v12's. Great all seasons for a great price. They come very highly rated and I have absolutely no regrets in going with them.

No experience yet but I have a new set of wheels coming on the UPS truck mounted with RE760 Sports. I belong to a private list where many recommended them. I was also considering the RE960 AS PP but decided to go with the summer tire.

I don't drive in the snow. We get lots of rain but minimal snow here in southern Oregon and I never had any trouble with performance summer tires on my E36M3. I'm sure an AS tire would be better in the bad weather but I didn't want to sacrifice the performance for the majority of the year.

One thing I noticed is the tread width may be considerably narrower on an AS tire of the same size.

Good luck - Jay

We've had similar positive feedback from other customers as well.

What's the aversion to RFTs? Did you give the Mich PS2 ZPs a shot?

Because they wear fast and overpriced. $353 for one rear tire is insane. I see if they were 24's or something but for an 18 inch tire. Come on. Rather buy 4 regular and get the donut spare from Tischer off an E60.

You won't regret leaving the RFT's IMO.

There's no space to put the donut spare. Do you leave it banging around inside the trunk? I've read here most people would drop RFT and am thinking of following suit someday. I've thought about getting non-RFT (I run 18") and a mobility kit just in case, but I'd rather have the old-school spare and jack.
