Feeler: any takers for an already ordered (but not delivered) 2010 528i?

Hi all,

I have custom-ordered a nice 528i to be delivered in January. But, now I have second thoughts and think that it's better to stick with the 3-series. I've got a pretty good deal on the order, which is $1000 over invoice, no MF markup on the lease, and no other dealer fees. Here are the car's specs:

528i
Space gray exterior
Black leather/bamboo anthracite interior
Value package (leather, ipod adapter)
Cold weather package (w/ heated steering wheel)
Multi-Contour Seats
Navigation
Satellite Radio
Xenon headlights
Manual Transmission

MSRP: $51970, monthly payment with the 0 down is in the high $600s, but it can be lowered by using MSDs.

The dealer requires a cash deposit refundable at the time of delivery b/c of the manual transmission.

Anyone interested in this deal?

Note: the deadline for custom ordering a 5-series car was October 9.

The dealer is located in Oregon.

Are you legally required to take delivery? I don't think so but I don't know for sure. Perhaps someone with more knowledge on this can help you out...

The problem is that I did sign a deposit agreement, which says that the deposit is refundable only if I take the car. If there was no such agreement, it would have been a different story. Plus, I do understand the dealer's position and don't want to cause them any trouble. This car is not popular for sure, but there have to be some people wanting a 528i with a manual, which is logical because for that particular car the manual tranny does make a noticeable difference in acceleration.

how much did you put down?

you should just sit on your deposit

if you ordered it from BMW Bellevue, those guys are really cool and can probably help you out

I ordered from BMW of Eugene b/c I didn't want to spend days on negotiations and the Eugene people agreed to a $1000 over invoice right away.

The deposit is $3,000. So, losing it is not really an option.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've already posted on craigslist in Seattle and Eugene.

The audi belongs to my better half. She likes AWD.

Latest update: while I was on vacation, someone took the 528i and I got my deposit fully refunded! Yee-haa!

So, I just ordered a 335i sedan w/ m-sport and le mans blue exterior! Should be here in 8 weeks. Can't wait to meet that beauty!

Thanks to everyone for their comments and support.
