1. Everyone is greedy and self-serving, we satisfy our needs before thinking about others needs (econ 101)

2. BMW is a corporation made up of lots of someones (esp. executives who are very good at econ and greedy, lol)

3. If BMW is made up of lots of someones and its top executives are also 'human,' then they must be greedy (human-nature, point #1)

4. Greed is defined as making an above-normal amount of profit, and in order to do so, the company takes into account current and future revenues and costs

5. Warranty is a future cost that corporations must guarantee to its customers

6. Given that BMW has lasted for many years, and assuming that its executives are smart as well as greedy, i'm sure that they will "estimate" future costs (i.e. warranty - they do this using STATS 101 and CALCULUS 101, lol)

7. Therefore, smart and successful companies, like BMW, will est. and factor in future costs when producing a product, in order to maintain a net profit!


PS. LIFE IS NOT A ZERO SUM GAME, THERE ARE ALWAYS NEW THINGS TO EXPLOIT AND MAKE $$$, THAT'S WHY WE HAVE CAPITALISM...

MOST PPL ARE IN IT FOR THEMSELVES AND DO INDEED MAKE ABOVE-NORMAL LEVELS OF PROFIT!

IF THIS WERE NOT TRUE, THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD WE HAVE BUSINESSES AND NEW INNOVATIONS (OH WAIT, THE ANSWER IS B/C THESE THINGS MAKE $$$ WHICH IS NOT A 0 SUM)

lets not worry about poor BMW's profits (UP in 2006), I think they make enough money out of us already.
