how long tell i wax my brand new 335i
i just got my car jan 3rd and i had the dealer do all the prep work. When should i wax the car again or should i just do a polish or just wait 6 more weeks and get hand washes.

I personally didn't wait long. Got my supplies after researching the forum and Autopia, then I used those about 3 weeks later. I'm not sure what the dealers really use and how long they last, but it kinda looked greasy and seemed to collect dirt faster than my current efforts (Zaino). I don't trust dealers to put in as great of an effort as I would myself (and I'm totally new to detailing).
I'm sure a search might yield some info on what the dealers use and how long it lasts. BTW what color is your car? And congrats ![]()

+1 on the congratulations on the new car. I did the same as Ninjaneer, within a few weeks of getting my car. Then I had our own shimshimhada clay and Zaino the car about 2 months later. He did a lot better job than I did, and the car has looked spectacular (if I say so myself) since then with only a regular washing.

I always use a synthetic polymer polish now- wax doesn't last.
My answer: wait until it's in your driveway, then have at it! ![]()

Why are you thinking in the past? You don't need to wait any period of time to wax, doesn't matter how new the car is.
You made a big mistake by letting the dealer prep your car. Don't worry about it now though. |

New car paint are fully cured by the time it hits your driveway. There's no reason to wait. I get protection on mine as soon as I get it home.
Repaints are a different thing and must fully cure before you mess with buffing and polishing, especially with a machine.
