2006 325i maintenance info reset
I had my oil and filter changed today by an independent garage. My 06 325i is out of warranty. I tried resetting the maintenance settings and got all changed but ended up with the Brake Pad replacement warning light coming on. I checked and tried to reset it but it does not have "0" miles but rather "------" miles and it will not reset. This setting was fine until I reset the other brake pad setting so I know that the sensor is not bad. Does anyone know how I can reset this item and get rid of the warning in both my iDrive screen and in the Speedometer panel?

Brake warning
I did not have any problem until I reset the oil, front brakes, microfilter and other options. Then the rear brake warning comes up. As mentioned it can not be reset because it gives "dash dash dash" in the mileage area. I looked at the rear pads and they look fine. I also read elsewhere that the warning could go away after driving the car again for a while. I drove it today about 5 miles. NO change. Does anyone know a work around for resetting the rear brake pad warning. This is really annoying.

I have the same issue with mine. It appears that the mileage for the back brakes on mine reached zero, even thou I have plenty of pad material (the pads were replaced mid-cycle when I bought this car used), and the fix is to disconnect and reconnect the brake pad sensor to make it appear that the brakes have been replaced. It been giving this error for a week, so it doesn't go away.

known issue...the workaround is to install new sensors-reset your cbs data-then change the cbs data to what your current brake pad depth is...
