charcoal filter
How do I get it back on? The back bolts are lining up but it is not close enough to screw in. I looked to see if maybe there is a groove but it looks like it just sit's on top. What am I missing?

yea the thing you put on after the cowl with the two filter's on it. Actually, I just drove around with just the front two screws on and you can hear the turbo's and engine better. I might just button up 1 screw on the back and leave the rest off for the sound.

If I'm not mistaken, you are referring the microfilters. The purpose of these is to keep fresh air circulating through the cabin...
maybe you're speaking about something else? I know my z4 had a charcoal air filter in the airbox, but I don't think any n54 vehicles have a similar piece.
