Ok so, I have a black e92 335i and the lower grills are silver. Everything on my car is black except this. I was gonna cover the whole entire front end in painters tape and just go over it with some matte black paint but i saw that the stock intercooler would get paint on it and all that other stuff. Anyways what should I do? is there a DIY Guide on how to take out the front bumper?

Hint: They are called finishing rods. They are black on 328s.

The Lower grills can be removed without taking the bumper off but are definitely easier to taleout with it off. There are DIYs for both. Either way I would recommend that you take them out rather than risk overspray on the car and you will be able todo a better job with them out.
I have read that some people used the plastic coating spray paint on them to reduce chipping, not sure how it worked though. Make sure you clean them very well and get any oily residue off before you spray them or the paint will not have a nice finish. I used a coat of primer on mine just to play it safe.

Just got buy some Spraypaint and spray it into a bowl, then take a paintbrush and brush it on the grill. And tape off the bumper, thats what I did and it was super simple and looks clean!

Thats how i got mine, through tischer. But i had to paint the one on the passenger side because the mesh for the 328 has a panel behind the mesh that blocks the air from the second cooler on the 335.

It is part 3 on this diagram.

OP keep in mind if you buy the OEM 328 ones you won't have proper venting for the oil cooler.

You either have to modify the OEM ones, or buy pre-modified from somewhere else. I recommend just painting them on the car. I did it with the paint and sponge method and it turned out perfect. Take your time masking off the car and you'll be fine. No taking off the bumper, $15 total expense.

If you don't have an oil cooler then don't worry about it.
