Bmw 335i Headlights

Does the fog light automatically turns on when the headlights goes out?
I have a 2007 335i coupe.

I think you need the regular beams on in order for the fog lamp to work.

One of my headlights burnt out on the drivers side but the passengers side is still on. I was wondering if the fog lights turns on automatically to compensate for the burnt out headlights?
